Twirly Girly

Playing peek-a-boo with her book...

Below is a video of one of Emma's favorite things to do right now. She takes her "ipod" as we call it, makes it play a song, and twirls in circles while nodding her head. This is her newest dance move...she gets so dizzy! Enjoy...

I Love Guitars

Emma has a major crush on guitars. Everyday, she walks into the office and immediately asks to see one (on the computer). Daddy brought home one of his "backups" over the weekend for her to strum, etc....and, well, she broke it after 5 minutes. :) Luckily, it was easily fixed.

This was Emma's Sunday outfit, and I couldn't resist taking a few shots of her. She looked so grown up in her cream and black. Daddy even commented on how cute she looked...and then later on in the day said that it kind of looked like something that Michael Jackson would have worn. Maybe it was the shiny black shoes. Or perhaps the bows for "flair" going down the sleeves. Either way, give her a shiny studded glove and ask her to do the moonwalk, and she'd be set! I know I'm not going to be able to put her in this again without thinking "let's get on your Michael Jackson outfit!"
Onto other news...she woke up with a new tooth this morning...so the tooth count is up to 12!!!

Fun Weekend

Emma playing "queen"...I wrap my pj bottoms around her, making the perfect cape for her to prance around in.

This was taken on the way home from a playdate last week...she was all played out.

PaPa mailed her a dog the other day, and she LOVES it, as you'll see from the pictures... Thanks PaPa!!!

...giving him a hug...

...carrying him around everywhere.

We went to the pumpkin patch over the weekend, and it was FREEZING when we went, so hopefully we'll get another chance again maybe this week. We weren't able to stay long, but did snap a few quick pics.

I didn't realize there were so many different kinds of pumpkins...some of them look so weird!

"I think I'd just like to have this little one..."

More time with dog... so exciting!!!

Granna mailed Emma one of those musical/singing and talking cards the other day. She was scared of it at first, but soon realized that it was very fun to open and close herself. Thanks Granna!

For Halloween this year, E was Pebbles (from the Flintstones) and her good friend Colin was Bam-Bam. We had our Fall Festival at church last night and she was quite overwhelmed (in a good way) with all the decorations, people, games, etc. She had a blast!

Playing Moses and the Red Sea Bowling (aka...mostly carrying around the bowling ball and then walking through the pins to knock them over). Cute.

Pebbles and Bam-Bam

After we got home and I took her hair down, I couldn't resist taking this "crazy hair" pic.

Haynes Update and Announcement

I know, I know, it's been way too long since my last post. But, big things have been going on...
The most important news is that we're going to have another baby!!! "Skittles," as we lovingly have nicknamed him/her, will arrive in late April. We're so excited.

Along with the news though, has come LOTS and LOTS of morning sickness, which is the main reason for me not blogging in so long. Hopefully, it will go away soon...round the clock "sickness" is for the birds.

Adam had knee surgery a few weeks ago and is doing well. He'll have months of PT to get all the mobility back, but it was a success and we're thankful it's over with.

And, finally, a little update on Emma...at 16 months, she's learning so fast and so much. She's been surprisingly good these last few weeks when both Mommy and Daddy have been on the couch (with morning sickness and knee stuff). She's learned all her body parts (including some random ones like elbow, eyebrow, thumb and finger). She loves to hug ANYTHING...for instance, if she tries to hug Ava, but Ava moves away too fast, she'll say "Awww!" and then go hug whatever she's closest too. That could mean Mommy, a chair, or sometimes, the carpet. She loves to show love. We might have a future dermatologist on our hands...she's identified her "mole" and loves to point out "mommy's mole," "daddy's mole," and even found a new one on her leg the other day that I didn't even know was there. She loves dolls, cats and dogs, and guitars. Another new thing is that she loves wearing Mommy and Daddy's socks on her hands while she plays...very interesting to watch. We put "ocks" on many times a day.
Here's a bunch of pics from the last few weeks: Enjoy!

Emma seems to think that anytime the blue blanket is on Daddy, it's a welcome "pounce" on him and play on him time. :)

She loves being thrown in the air...

see???

Daddy giving some kisses.

Emma's able to put on Daddy's flip flops all by herself. :)

After "brush our teeth time" Emma always looks in the mirror and watches herself give Mommy a big hug. It's precious.

Before Daddy's surgery...Emma's favorite thing to do was to work the controller to his bed, making it go up, down, sit him up and down, etc. He was a good sport!

Her favorite book to read right now is Adam's "Portable Seminary" book. For some reason she loves "bih buh" (aka...big book) and always asks for help to get it down so she can read it.

"Um, guys, I think I'm going to need some help getting out of this thing..."

This is her "oh my goodness, did you just hear that bird!?!?!?!?!?" face. The eyebrows go up, and she acts like she's just hearing it for the first time. This is also the same face we get when she hears a dog.

Going for a walk down the street.

"See you guys later, I've got important places to be!"

Bringing Mommy the mail.

I wonder what she was thinking about here...

Torturing Mallie and Ava...they wanted to come outside with Emma so bad!

Last Week

PaPa came into town for the week and we went to the park and Emma checked out the prairie dogs. She loved watching them.

Justa Swinging...

We went and fed the ducks (which she loved and ran right up to)...but then the big geese came up and she thought they were a little too....big.

PaPa and Emma

After we took PaPa to Dallas to catch his flight, we drove home and Adam decided that it was the perfect time to splash and play in the rain. Emma loved it and got soaked head to toe.

We stripped her down once we came inside, and she wanted to put on Adam's socks and wear them around the house. They looked like little legwarmers on her, it was too funny! As you can see, she "completed" this unique look with a red headband.

Never a Dull Moment...

Over the weekend, Adam tore down another one of our planter boxes, and Emma was so cute as she "helped." She thought she was big time carrying around the mallet.

The next few pictures were taken just a few minutes ago...
I went to get Emma up from her nap for lunch, and THIS is what I found! We have (or HAD is a better word) a VERY OLD Little Golden Book of the "Four Little Kittens." Emma somehow used some MacGyver move to get it off her bookshelf during naptime, and well....the demolition began. I found her asleep in the only "clean" corner all curled up in a ball. She reminded me of a little hamster, laying amidst all her cage shavings. :)

Showing me what she did.
