Thankful Thursday

This morning Miss Brenda picked Emma up and took her to play at her house, which meant that I got some much needed one-on-one time with Caleb. Usually Thursdays are my "Thundering Thursdays" where I get tons of housework done, but this morning I put it aside and spent the entire time playing with him. We played in his room for the first time ever, and got out some toys that typically get taken away from him when we drag them out. He had a ball. I was so thankful that Brenda invited Emma over. :) It helped us all, I think. So, I renamed today "Thankful Thursday."

Playing with Noah's Ark...it's funny--Emma really liked the lion best and I think he does too.

"All these toys to myself!?!?! Unbelievable!"

He crawled around everywhere and was excited to explore his own room.

"See everyone? This is MY room!"
I love this pic. Such a cutie pie.

Funny Story: Last night while cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, Emma said "Mommy?" I didn't answer because I was preoccupied with picking up, so she waited a sec, then said "...Danielle?" The look on my face must have been pretty shocking, because she said it again. When I looked up, I actually was looking for someone else to be standing in our living room, thinking that somehow I must have left the front door open or something. After further investigation, I also learned that she knows Daddy's name too. The only thing Adam and I could figure out was that she overheard our names when we met Caleb's new PT yesterday. But she never questioned us about it...she just "sat" on the new info and pulled it out at the appropriate time. I tell ya--she surprises us everyday!!!

A few new things she's learned lately:
1. her phone number
2. her birthday
3. "He made everything beautiful...Ecclesiastes 3:11"
4. sometimes her poo poo looks like the little acorns that we find when we go on our walks. (hey, she's two...she's comparing everything these days!!!)

Below are a few videos. The first is random...Emma put on Daddy's backpack and thought it was hilarious that it "bonked" her legs when she walked. At the end of the video...I had to include a little clip of me sucking the snot out of Caleb's nose with a bulb syringe. Now, we all know he's "opinionated" about various things, and one would think he wouldn't like this...but for some reason it is gobs of fun and very funny to him.

The next one is long overdue...Aunt Manda sent a few little gifts for the kiddos a few weeks ago. Caleb got to open his (a Big Bird puppet) and Emma had to wait til the next day b/c she had not been obeying well the day it arrived in the mail. So, this is a video of her getting to open her gift. She loved them all, but was most impressed that she had a "Big Bird" to play with like Caleb. :)

This last one was from this morning, after Emma got back from Miss Brenda's house. We had been outside talking to our neighbor, and Emma overheard that our other neighbor, Miss Barbara, was at the doctor because she had broken her arm a few weeks ago and was getting a check up. The info stuck... It's kind of a long video, but let's you be able to hear all the talking she's been doing lately. :) When I watched this happen today, my mind fast-forwarded 14 years, and I saw her as a 16 year old, gabbing to her friends on the phone while laying on the couch. Sigh. I know that day will be here all too soon, so for now, I'll just watch this video again. :)
