Happy 4th of July!!!

Our July 4th weekend was a pretty quiet one. The city had banned fireworks since it's so dry here, so maybe next year Emma will get to try some sparklers or something. Here's a few pics.

Our spelling champion has done it again!!!
Isn't this awesome!?! She drew Ernie and "spelled it." I love that she's sounding out words on her own.

To celebrate the 4th, we brought out the kiddie pool. We thought it would be a very festive thing to do...but Caleb was NOT impressed.
I think it's safe to say we probably don't have the next Michael Phelps on our hands...

...Emma had a blast though!

Just a boy in his sandbox.
(he was a much happier camper once he got back on "land.")

When is he going to learn that sand does not taste good???

Watering the lawn.

Emma's New Easel!!!
Okay, so this is not the easel that I bought back on Black Friday when shopping with my sis-in-law at 5am for Emma. Adam and I got it out of the box just before her birthday, set it up and it was humongous. We just didn't have space for it in the office, and I didn't want to put it in her room, because, let's face it, easel-work is work that needs to be monitored closely, right?
Sooo....I returned the humongous easel and bought a dry erase board. It's magnetic, so she can use her letters on it to make words. Then we got a roll of paper and a curtain rod, and voila! An easel that is fully functional and takes up zero floor space. (And, when she gets older, it will be perfect for her to play "school" with too). She loves it!

Below are a few videos that are long overdue (the blog went through a phase where it was not letting anyone upload videos, but now the feature is working again).

Above: playing. When we peeked in Emma's room trying to see what all the fuss was about, we still couldn't figure it out. But something was evidently hilarious...

Our little superstar.
The therapist brought over these green steps...perfect when working with Caleb, and also perfect for Emma, who is convinced it is her stage. :)

Caleb's infamous smile. Makes us smile everytime he does this...

Happy Father's Day video. Daddy came home from praise band practice so we could all ride to church together. Emma had a message for him...
